Sladdens Barn - photographs

To accompany Tony Jerram's article about Sladdens Barn, here are some photographs showing the barn before and after its conversion. The photographs were kindly loaned by Patsy Miller (née Sladden).

"The Barn, Seward House" is all that appears on this picture
which dates from the first half of the twentieth century.
The decorations suggest a Christmas celebration.

Photograph dated 1972 shortly before conversion work.

About 1969.

About 1969, showing the large threshing floor doors.

About 1970. The wheel was probably part of a horse-powered corn mill.
It had to be removed during the conversion.

Behind him are the pig sties.

Building work in 1972 outside the barn when Juliet Sladden converted outbuildings into two garages.

After the conversion in June 1974. In the background is Badsey's Wellingtonia tree that was felled in 1980.
