Eclipse of the Sun, 17 April 1912

The telescope was set up to project an image of the sun on to a sheet of paper so that everyone could safely watch the progress of the eclipse. The instrument may have belonged to C A Binyon. Those pictured are probably all teachers at Badsey School, left to right: -, -, Rose Sparrow, one of Mr McDonald's daughters, -, headmaster J H McDonald. The parish magazine for 1912 prints a prize winning essay by Nancy Crisp aged 12 about the eclipse.
