Partnership with Halberstadt, Germany

For four years the parishes of Badsey with Aldington, Offenham and Bretforton have been linked with a group of churches in the Halberstadt region of Germany. Halberstadt was once part of East Germany and lies roughly 120 miles SW of Berlin.

The area around Halberstadt is rural quite similar the Vale except that it is very flat. The farmers have similar problems, imported goods are cheaper than locally grown produce. There are 17 parishes in the group and they have three pastors.

In June 2002 the band from Halberstadt visited us.
